Disney filed a new declaration for the Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows on July 22, 2026, adding 19 vacation homes to the DVC-bookable inventory. That brings the tower’s total from 123 to 142 rooms, which is good news for anyone tracking DVC Island Tower resale points and availability.
Details of the 19 New Homes in the Island Tower
The new homes come from two units on the fifth floor, on the side facing Disney’s Grand Floridian:
- Unit 94A: 9 vacation homes, 142,934 points
- Unit 94B: 10 vacation homes, 195,090 points
Here’s the breakdown on the type of villas that were added:
- 1 Duo Studio 9 Tower Studios
- 2 One-Bedroom villas
- 4 Lockoff Two-Bedroom villas
- 3 Dedicated Two-Bedroom villas
Together that’s 338,024 points added to the pool. With this filing, roughly two-thirds of the tower is now declared for DVC use, which should translate to slightly better availability at Island Tower going forward, particularly for those who book 7 months out, where more declared rooms generally means more inventory in play.
Can you book Island Tower with Resale Points?
If you own resale (and most of you reading this do) here’s the good news: DVC Island Tower resale points work exactly like direct points. None of this comes with the resale restrictions you might be bracing for.
Island Tower isn’t a new, standalone resort. It’s part of the same condominium association as the existing Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, which is one of DVC’s original 14 home resorts. That means Island Tower resale points never picked up the post-2019 resale restrictions that apply to Riviera, Disneyland Hotel, or Fort Wilderness Cabins.
Practically, that means:
- Resale points bought at any of the original 14 resorts can book Island Tower at 7 months, same as direct points.
- If your home resort is Poly (Lake View, Standard View, Deluxe Studios, or Bungalows), your DVC Island Tower resale points get full 11-month priority booking (resale or direct, no difference).
- Dues are combined across the whole resort, and the ownership end date (2066) is the same for every owner regardless of purchase channel.
So, whether you’re a direct or resale owner, you’ll be on equal footing when it comes to scheduling in the Poly Tower.
