Hello and welcome home to the Disney Treasure, Disney cruisers! It’s Kaity with Vacation Club Loans, and we recently had the chance to board the Disney Treasure, Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, to bring you a full walkthrough of the Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah (a.k.a. the regular balcony stateroom). If you’ve been eyeing a Disney Treasure sailing and wondering what you actually get with a standard verandah room, this one’s for you.

We filmed the whole tour on board, so make sure you watch the video above for the full visual experience. But if you’d rather read along (or you’re sneaking in some Disney planning at work, no judgment), here’s everything we saw.

Two Types of Balcony Staterooms

First things first: there are two different verandah stateroom categories on the Disney Treasure. The Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah is the standard option, and the Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah is the larger version that adds space for an extra bunk bed or Murphy bed. Our tour covers the regular version, the one most couples and smaller travel parties will book.

The regular verandah stateroom comes in at roughly 243 square feet, and if you’ve sailed on other cruise lines before, you’ll notice right away that Disney gives you noticeably more room to spread out.

The Key Card Trick

Before we even talk about the room itself, here’s a little tip for first-time Disney cruisers: as you walk in, there’s a card slot right by the door. Pop your Key to the World card in there and it activates all the lights and power in your stateroom. When you leave, just pull the card out and take it with you. You can also use your MagicBand if you have one set up, which is super convenient so you’re not fumbling around in the dark when you get back from dinner.

The Bed Situation (No Crack!)

One of the first things we noticed, and honestly one of the most important details, is that the queen bed is a single, full-size mattress. If you’ve cruised on other lines, you know the struggle of two twin beds pushed together with that dreaded gap down the middle. Not here. It’s one solid, comfortable bed, and nobody’s rolling into a crack at 2 a.m.

The Artwork: Luca Takes Center Stage

The Disney Treasure staterooms are themed around beloved adventure stories, and our room featured gorgeous custom artwork from the Pixar film Luca. The mural above the headboard showcases the colorful Italian seaside town from the movie, and if you look closely, there’s a little cat right in the center of the art, which was Kaity’s personal favorite detail.

There’s even a dedicated light that illuminates the artwork, which gives the whole room a warm, gallery-like glow. It’s one of those thoughtful Disney touches that makes the stateroom feel like more than just a place to sleep. Depending on which deck you’re on, you might also find artwork themed to Aladdin, Pocahontas, Encanto, Up, or Finding Nemo, so every room tells a different story.

The Desk (Or, Let’s Be Honest, the Makeup Vanity)

Next to the bed there’s a writing desk stocked with stationery for postcards and letters, a charming throwback detail. But let’s be real: for most of us, this is prime real estate for hair tools, skincare, and a ring light. It’s a solid workspace either way, with good lighting and enough surface area to actually be useful.

The Couch and Living Space

The stateroom also includes a decent-sized sofa that converts into a sleeper bed. It’s a comfortable spot to curl up and decompress after a long day at port or around the ship. The living area feels separate enough from the bed that you don’t feel like you’re sitting on top of each other, which is a big deal when you’re sharing a room for a week.

And there’s more beautiful Luca artwork on this side of the room too, and the theming really is consistent throughout the whole space.

The Verandah: Your Private Slice of Ocean

Step through the sliding glass door and you’re on your own private balcony. It comes furnished with two chairs and a small table, perfect for morning coffee, watching the sunset, or just sitting out there and listening to the ocean. There’s enough room for two people to sit comfortably without feeling cramped.

Here’s a fun hack we used on this trip: we were traveling with friends in the staterooms on either side of us, and on the Disney Treasure, adjacent verandahs have a shared divider that can be opened from one side. Our friends opened theirs, and suddenly we had one big connected balcony for the whole group. It’s a fantastic option if you’re traveling with family or friends in neighboring rooms.

The Split Bathroom: A Game Changer

If you’ve ever shared a cruise cabin with someone, you know the bathroom battle is real. Disney Cruise Line solved this years ago with their signature split bathroom design, and it’s back on the Treasure.

On one side, you have a vanity with a sink and a full tub-and-shower combo. On the other side, behind a separate door, is the water closet with its own sink and toilet. That means one person can be showering and doing their hair while the other takes care of business. No awkward waiting, no fighting for mirror space. It’s one of those features that sounds small on paper but makes a huge difference in daily life on board.

Storage for Days

Another standout feature: the storage. This stateroom has essentially two full closets, plus shelving, drawers, and space under the bed for luggage. On a seven-night sailing, that means both travelers can fully unpack and settle in without anyone living out of a suitcase on the floor. It’s a small luxury that makes the room feel like home.

The Hidden Bunk Bed

Even though this is the “regular” verandah stateroom (not the family version), there’s still a pull-down bunk bed hidden in the ceiling above the sofa area. If you have a third guest (say, a kid who doesn’t mind climbing up), your stateroom host can pull it down during turndown service. It’s a great option to have, and it means this room can technically sleep three to four guests even without upgrading to the family category.

Final Thoughts

The Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah on the Disney Treasure is a genuinely well-designed space. It’s thoughtfully themed, surprisingly roomy for a standard balcony cabin, and packed with smart features like the split bathroom and hidden bunk. Whether you’re a couple looking for a relaxing Caribbean getaway or a small family wanting a comfortable home base between adventures on the ship, this stateroom delivers.

We literally had just boarded when we filmed this tour, and we were already impressed. Stay tuned for more coverage of the Disney Treasure, including the dining, the entertainment, the pools, and so much more. And yes, we went straight to eat after this because we were starving.
