If you’ve ever dreamed of waking up to the sound of Hawaiian waves and sipping coffee on a lanai while gazing over a koi pond and a shimmering lagoon, you’re not alone. For DVC members, Disney’s Aulani Resort offers that magic—and more. During our recent stay in a two-bedroom lock-off villa, we got the full Aulani experience. And let us tell you: it did not disappoint.
In this Aulani DVC villa review, we’ll break down what a two-bedroom lock-off actually is, who it’s perfect for, what surprised us most, and how you can make it your next DVC home—with a little help from Vacation Club Loans.
What Is a Two-Bedroom Lock-Off at Aulani?

Let’s start with the basics: a two-bedroom lock-off villa is a unique DVC configuration that combines a one-bedroom villa and a deluxe studio via a connecting door. Think of it like two separate living spaces—each with its own entrance, balcony, and amenities—that come together to form one incredibly spacious vacation home.
In our setup, the one-bedroom side featured a full kitchen, dining area, living room (with a pull-out couch and sleeper chair), a washer and dryer, and a spacious primary bedroom. The adjoining studio side included a queen bed, a sleeper sofa, kitchenette, and its own bathroom and balcony.
Together, the space comfortably sleeps up to 9 guests—making it ideal for families, friend groups, or, in our case, five women on a girls’ getaway with a love of Disney and an even greater love of avocado toast.
Room Layout: Spacious, Stylish, and Smart

Upon walking into the villa, the first thing that hit us—besides the gorgeous sunset through the window—was the sheer amount of space. There was more than enough room to spread out, unwind, and still enjoy time together.
Despite being a lock-off, the villa didn’t feel disjointed. The open floor plan of the one-bedroom side made it the natural hangout spot, while the studio side provided extra privacy (read: snoring buffer) and another lanai for sunrise views.
We had partial ocean views, and from our balconies we could see everything from the koi pond below to the iconic Aulani pool volcano. It was the kind of view you want to bottle up and take home.
Hidden Highlights: The Little Details That Made a Big Impact
You know Disney doesn’t do things halfway, but Aulani takes that to the next level. The thoughtful details in the villa design brought authentic Hawaiian touches together with the warmth of Disney magic.
Our favorite surprise? The delicate Mickey-shaped lamps and the beautiful floral lei clips waiting on the beds. These weren’t cheap plastic giveaways—they were lovely keepsakes we ended up gifting to friends back home (but not before wearing them around the resort like true island queens).
Another huge perk? The in-unit washer and dryer. We never usually take the time to do laundry on vacation, but Aulani was an exception. With so many days in paradise and five women packing “just enough,” that washer-dryer combo became a packing game changer. Less luggage, more souvenirs.
The Comfort Factor: Beds, Bathrooms, and Beyond

Sleeping arrangements in the Aulani DVC Villa Review were surprisingly flexible. With two queen beds (one in the studio and a pull-out), a king in the primary bedroom, plus multiple sofa beds and even a Murphy bed under the TV, we had room for all five of us and could have easily fit a few kids as well.
And yes, we asked for extra detergent—because five women meant five times the wardrobe changes.
The bathrooms (yes, plural) were especially appreciated. No more doing makeup in shifts or flipping coins for mirror space. Having multiple full baths with large vanities gave everyone their own prep station. If you’ve ever traveled in a group, you know that’s a luxury.
Location, Location, Lagoon

Being right in the heart of Ko Olina, Aulani has an unbeatable location. It’s nestled between other high-end resorts (like the gorgeous Marriott Ko Olina next door), yet it still manages to feel private and intimate.
The lagoon just steps from the resort was a highlight—perfect for early morning walks, snorkeling, or just lounging with a Dole Whip in hand. And despite the size of the property and the number of people around, we never once felt crowded. The resort layout is brilliantly designed to keep foot traffic flowing and guests relaxed.
Parking was a breeze (even with a rental car situation that included a flat tire and a not-so-helpful rental agency), and the concierge team was outstanding—providing complimentary air pumps and clear directions to get us back on track.
Is It Worth the Points?
Short answer: YES.
Long answer: If you’re looking for a Aulani DVC Villa Review that offers comfort, flexibility, space, luxury, and that unique blend of Hawaiian culture and Disney magic, the two-bedroom lock-off is 100% worth the DVC points.
It’s the kind of stay that makes you feel like a VIP guest in a world-class resort, but with the comfort of home (and your own washer/dryer). Whether you’re traveling as a family, friend group, or planning a milestone trip, this villa gives you the space and amenities to do it all—and relax in between.
